HydroCl is a precision-formulated oral rehydration solution designed for clinical and at-home management of dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. Developed with input from leading nephrologists and emergency medicine specialists, it offers a balanced, isotonic composition that rapidly restores fluid volume and corrects electrolyte deficits without gastrointestinal distress. Its evidence-based formula is optimized for absorption, making it a reliable choice for patients experiencing acute fluid loss due to illness, exertion, or medical treatment. Trusted in hospitals and recommended by clinicians, HydroCl sets a new standard in effective, rapid rehydration therapy.
Features
- Isotonic solution (270–310 mOsm/L) for optimal intestinal absorption
- Balanced electrolyte profile: sodium, potassium, chloride, and bicarbonate precursors
- Low osmolality carbohydrates for enhanced sodium and water uptake
- Free from artificial colors, flavors, and common allergens (gluten-free, lactose-free)
- Available in single-use, pre-measured packets for accurate dosing and convenience
- Pleasant, mild taste to encourage compliance across all age groups
Benefits
- Rapid restoration of intravascular volume and correction of dehydration
- Prevents complications associated with electrolyte imbalances, such as muscle cramps or cardiac arrhythmias
- Reduces need for intravenous fluid administration in mild to moderate cases
- Supports faster recovery from exertional dehydration, gastroenteritis, or febrile illnesses
- Enhances patient comfort and tolerance compared to traditional ORS solutions
- Suitable for use across diverse clinical and age-specific populations, including pediatric and geriatric patients
Common use
HydroCl is commonly used in cases of acute dehydration resulting from viral or bacterial gastroenteritis, excessive sweating due to heat or exercise, mild hyperemesis gravidarum, or febrile states. It is also indicated for preoperative bowel preparation and as adjunctive therapy in patients with chronic conditions such as renal impairment or heart failure, where careful electrolyte management is essential. In sports medicine, it is utilized for rapid rehydration in athletes experiencing significant fluid and sodium losses.
Dosage and direction
Dissolve the contents of one packet in 250 mL of clean, cool water. Stir until fully dissolved. For adults and adolescents, the general recommendation is 200–400 mL after each loose stool or episode of vomiting, up to 2–3 L in 24 hours as tolerated. For pediatric use (children over 1 year), administer 5–10 mL/kg body weight after each diarrheal stool. Sip slowly rather than drinking large volumes at once to improve tolerance. Use under medical supervision in patients with renal or cardiac conditions.
Precautions
Do not use in patients with severe dehydration requiring IV rehydration. Use with caution in individuals with hypertension, renal impairment, or congestive heart failure due to sodium content. Avoid preparation with hypertonic solutions or sugary drinks. Do not exceed recommended daily intake unless directed by a healthcare provider. Discard unused prepared solution after 24 hours. Not intended for use as a sole source of nutrition.
Contraindications
HydroCl is contraindicated in patients with anuria, severe oliguria, or known hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients. It should not be used in patients with metabolic alkalosis, hyperkalemia, or severe hypernatremia. Avoid in cases of intestinal obstruction or ileus. Not recommended for infants under 1 year of age without medical supervision.
Possible side effect
Mild gastrointestinal discomfort, including nausea or bloating, may occur initially. In rare cases, overconsumption may lead to hypernatremia or fluid overload, particularly in patients with compromised renal or cardiac function. Allergic reactions are extremely uncommon but may include rash or itching.
Drug interaction
Concurrent use with potassium-sparing diuretics, ACE inhibitors, or NSAIDs may increase the risk of hyperkalemia. Use with corticosteroids may enhance sodium retention. Patients on lithium therapy should monitor levels closely, as sodium intake can affect lithium excretion. Always inform a healthcare provider of all medications being taken.
Missed dose
HydroCl is used as needed based on symptoms of dehydration. There is no fixed dosing schedule. If a dose is missed according to a prescribed regimen (e.g., postoperative use), resume with the next scheduled intake. Do not double the dose.
Overdose
Excessive consumption may lead to hypernatremia, hyperkalemia, or fluid overload. Symptoms include confusion, swelling, shortness of breath, or irregular heartbeat. In case of suspected overdose, discontinue use and seek immediate medical attention. Treatment is supportive and may include diuresis or electrolyte monitoring.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the powder in its original sealed packet until ready to use. Once prepared, store the solution in a refrigerator and use within 24 hours. Do not freeze.
Disclaimer
This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Always consult a healthcare professional before use, especially in patients with pre-existing medical conditions, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and children. Use only as directed.
Reviews
“HydroCl has become a staple in our pediatric clinic for managing mild to moderate dehydration. Its palatability and balanced formula significantly improve compliance.” — Dr. Elena Rostova, MD, Pediatrics
“As a sports medicine physician, I recommend HydroCl for athletes recovering from endurance events. It’s effective, well-tolerated, and avoids the sugar overload of many commercial drinks.” — Dr. Mark Thielen, DO
“I’ve used HydroCl for years with geriatric patients who are prone to dehydration. It’s gentle on the stomach and easier to administer than IV fluids in appropriate cases.” — RN Claudia Bell, Geriatric Care
